Born and raised in Idaho. Camping, hunting and fishing have been a big part of my life since my earliest memories. Joined the Marine Corps right out of school and still got to go camping and hunting. It was a different hunting in a different part of the world though. Drove a semi back and forth across the U.S. and Canada for a few years, never regretted driving because I have seen a lot of country. When someone talks about up state NY, been there, talk about LA, been there, TX you bet. Came back to Idaho for a family emergency, carrying a guitar, backpack and a cardboard box and I have lived here ever since. Still have the guitar, but I traded the backpack in on some horses and mules. Somedays when it is -3 degrees and I'm out feeding livestock, I kinda wish I had kept that backpack.
Growing up my family was always going camping, either for fishing or hunting or just because why not. We went on many a vacations, 5 kids, 2 parents and usually Grandpa and Grandma came along. Just picture that, 4 adults, 5 kids in a 4 door sedan, no air conditioning, no video player, no game station, just family, and I don't every remember getting board. There was always something to learn by watching the mountains or listening to Grandpa's stories.
Trips out into Mother Natures' majestic beauty provides a ever lasting memory. Take the time, take your family, take a friend, just DO IT. Just think, what a perfect place and time to reflect on life and love. Take this opportunity to reach out to your family and friends.
